Changes to our Admissions Policy
From the 1st February 2024 we are making some changes to our admission policy.
To enter iceSheffield unaccompanied children will need to be 10 years. All children aged 9 and under will need a responsible guardian (16+) to remain in the venue during their visit. This includes during leisure skating, lessons and ice workshops.
Our Learn to Skate Workshops are designed for all skaters!
Whether you are a complete beginner or you are already on our learn to skate programme and want to improve your technique our workshops are suitable for all.
Each day will consist of on ice coaching by our qualified NISA coaches, refreshments, breakfast served mid-morning and lunch.

To book:
- Click the link below and select all the dates you would like to book
- Click the Log In button and log in to your child's account. If they don't already have an online account you can register one here. If you are using the same email address as on your account please ensure you use a different password.
- Please ensure you let us know of any medical conditions we should be aware of.
- Once you have confirmed and completed payment you will receive a booking and payment email. Then 24 hours later you will receive another confirmation email with more details of your booking.
Please note we do not accept childcare voucher payments for our ice workshops.

Q: How much is the workshoplesson?
A: £50 per day
Q: How long is the workshop lesson?
A: Each group has a 6 hour day. Timings depend on which group you are in.
Q: How old does my child have to be to attend a workshop?
A: From 5 years ols, however if they are 9 and under an adult must stay at iceSheffield for the duration of the course.
Q: How many levels will I pass?
A: The aims of the days are to improve the skating ability, not focus on specific elements that need to be passed to progress- although that does happen. Passing of levels is not guaranteed, the day is intended to complement your skating ability.
Q: Are skaters put in specific levels or grouped together?
A: The skater are grouped together eg, levels 1-3. Even though you may not be focusing on your specific level at all times your overall skating ability will benefit from the coaching sessions.
Q: How many hours of on ice coaching will my child get?
A: 3 x 1 hour 20 minute sessions on ice with our British Ice Skating registered coaches
Q: What is the ratio of coaches to skaters?
A: We aim for a ratio of 1:12
Q: Is food & drink included?
A: Yes, for all people who are booked onto the workshop but not for parents accompanying their child. A mid-morning snack of toast with butter/jam is served after their first hour on ice followed by jacket potato or pasta bake for lunch where you can add your own cheese, tuna and beans toppings. Hot drinks (tea & coffee) are served for breakfast and lunch as well as cold water, orange and blackcurrant squash.
Q: I’m an adult, can I go on the workshop?
A: Adults are welcome to book on to our workshops. From time to time we do hold specific adult only workshops. Please check at reception for future dates.
