We are working with our partners and people with disabilities to be more accessible so that everyone across the city has access to health, fitness and entertainment facilities

At Concord Sports Centre we provide the following facilities to make the centre accessible to everyone:

Car Parking And Centre Access

  • 10 accessible car parking bays are available at the front of the Centre
  • A ramp leads up to main reception from the main car park and a ramp leads down to the lower sports hall from main car park

Lifts

  • A lift in reception leads to the upper and lower floors and a lift in the gym with access to the gym upper level. 
  • A code is not needed for the lift

Changing Facilities, Toliets And Showers

  • Swimming Pool changing areas are accessible by an internal ramp from reception
  • Accessible changing facilities and toilets are available for both gym and pool
  • Accessible toilets and showers are available on the ground floor plus 1 in the lower sports hall and 1 on the upper level outside multi-sensory room
  • Changing Places toilet/changing area is available within the pool changing area with close access to the poolside

Swimming Pool Access

  • There are gradual step entries to both the main pool and teaching pool with hand rails
  • The main pool also has ladder access
  • Both pools are deck level
  • There is temporarily no hoist access to the pool

At EIS Sheffield we provide the following facilities to make the centre accessible to everyone:

Car Parking And Venue Access

  • Accessible car parking bays are available at the front of the venues.

  • Automatic doors are available at the front of the Centre.

Lifts

  • Lifts are available in the gym, reception and outside the cafe.

  • A code is not needed for the lift.

Changing Facilities, Toilets And Showers

  • 2 accessible changing rooms can be found on the main corridor off reception (1 with shower)

  • Accessible toilets can be found in the main reception and outside the gym. 

At Heeley Pool and Gym we provide the following facilities to make the centre accessible to everyone:

Car Parking And Venues Access

  • Car parking is available at the Cenrte.  There is 1 designated parking bay for disabled users
  • Disabled access is via a ramp into the building. Adapted door entry is available directly into the gym area.

Lifts

  • The centre does not offer any lifts. However, all activities are accessible on one level.

Changing Facilities, Toilets And Showers

  • Accessible toilets are available in the gym area

Swimming Pool Access

  • Access to pool is via gradual steps or ladder (no hoist available)

 

 At Hillsborough Leisure Centre we provide the following facilities to make the centre accessible to everyone:

Car Parking And Venue Access

  • Accessible car parking bays are available at the front of the Centre.
  • An automatic door leads into reception

Lifts

  • A lift in reception leads to the first floor where you access the gym, fitness studio and cafe
  • A lift in reception leads to the first floor where you access the gym, fitness studio and spectator galleries. The code to call the lift is 3488.

Changing Facilities, Toilets And Showers

  • Accessible changing facilities are available
  • Accessible toilets are available in the members changing rooms, sports hall male and female changing rooms, beach cafe, reception and cafe bar
  • The Leisure Pool changing area has ramp acess

  • Access to free foldable mats that can be used to help with changing

Swimming Pool Access

  • Automatic doors lead into the pool area
  • The pool changing village is accessed via a sloped ramp. Please speak to a member of staff on arrival should you require assistance with this slope.
  • Leisure pool has a sloped beach entry and a pool chair is available to use for entry to this pool

  • There is also a sloped gradient of approx. 1:12 for a length of aprox. 3500mm from the leisure pool to the teaching pool. Please speak to a member of staff on arrival should you require assistance with this slope.

  • There is currently no hoist entry to the Teaching Pool
  • The teaching pool has ladder access

Gym Access

  • Our gym equipment is wheelchair friendly

At Ponds Forge we provide the following facilities to make the centre accessible to everyone:

Car Parking And Centre Access

  • Accessible car parking spaces are available on the top floor of the car (free for blue badge holders)

Lifts

  • Lifts are available, with one in reception to the car park and one near the café to the upper and lower levels
  • A code is not needed for the lift

Changing Facilities, Toliets And Showers

  • Changing Places toilet/changing area is available on the lower ground floor close to both pool changing areas
  • Accessible changing rooms are available in the members area through the turnstile and the leisure pool changing rooms.
  • Accessible toilets are available in the sports hall, swimming pool area, member changing area and Competition Pool changing areas

Swimming Pool Access

  • A seated hoist is available for both pools
  • The leisure pool has both ladder and gradual step access, both with rails
  • The competition pool is deck level with ladder access

At Springs Leisure Centre we provide the following facilities to make the centre accessible to everyone:

Car Parking And Venue Access

  • Accessible parking bays are available at the front of the Centre with a ramp to access the building
  • Access to the sports hall, gym and dance studio are all via an internal door

Lifts

  • No lifts available at the Centre. However, all activities are all accessible on one level

Changing Facilities, Toilets and Showers

  • Accessible toilet facilities are available within the Centre

Swimming Pool Access

  • Pool access is via a ladder and the pool is deck level

At iceSheffield we provide the following facilities to make the centre accessible to everyone:

Car Parking And Venue Access

  • Accessible car parking spaces available at the front of the building with ramp access at the front entrance.

Lifts

  • Lifts available to get to and from the upper and lower levels.

  • A code isnot needed to access the lift

Changing Facilities, Toilets And Showers

  • An accessible changing room is available downstairs in-between pads (where hoist is located)

  • Accessible toilets are available through the core bar, between the changing rooms downstairs and behind block 8 on concourse level - pad 1.

  • Hoist is available downstairs in changing room

The Arena is a purpose built venue offering excellent facilities for visitors with disabilities - the number of spaces available varies on a show by show & we strongly recommend early booking.

In order for us to offer you the most suitable seating location we need to be aware of your needs at the time of booking and so that we can also be prepared for your arrival on the day of the show.

Please note that following the current changes in working practices due to Covid-19 our accessible seating is now only available online - the box office is not staffed so the contact emails and numbers below are not monitored and cannot be responded to.

If you are a visitor that requires a personal assistant to attend the show with you then it may be possible to claim a complimentary personal assistant ticket. This can differ from show to show so please check availability before booking your ticket. We will need to ask questions to ascertain the nature of the disability to ensure you are offered the most appropriate seating and that you qualify for a complimentary personal assistant ticket.  Click here for a list of documents we might take into consideration when considering to allocate a complimentary ticket. 

As with all tickets on an on sale the lines can be very busy - please keep trying as soon as it is possible to answer your call we will. Again as with all tickets we strongly recommend you prepare in advance of a show on sale to check booking procedures and ensure any entitlements are confirmed in advance - an on sale assistance guide is available here.

Parking Facilities
Accessible car parking facilities are available at the Arena. Advanced purchased car park tickets are the only way to guarantee your parking space and these must be purchased at the time you purchase your event tickets on 0114 256 55 93.

Advanced tickets will be £5 and £7 on the day for Ice Hockey, for all other events tickets will be £10 both in advance and on the day - should there still be parking spaces available.

Anyone arranging to drop-off, meet or pick-up someone from an event must do so away from the venue and the car parks. We understand this can be inconvenient but is a necessary measure for the security of everyone coming to the venue.

Access to Concourse Level
Concourse can by accessed via lifts located at Entries B & C or via an external ramp located on the Blue side of the building close to Entry C.

Box Office
The venue Box Office is located at Entrance C on the ground floor and has a purpose built low level counter. A hearing assistance system is installed on box office counters marked with the international symbol of deafness or hard of hearing for customers with hearing difficulties. There is ample parking outside the entrance, including disabled parking spaces.

Viewing Platforms
There are three viewing platforms accessed via red concourse, two via green and three via blue - these are called Seating Bays. On most concerts one personal assistant/companion is permitted to sit in this area with the customer who requires the assistant/companion. On family shows we will try to accommodate more if we can within the available space. We also try to hold the closest possible regular seating to accommodate additional family members. Everyone who attends the show is required to purchase a ticket unless otherwise stated on the event.

If you require access to the seating bay locations please call the box office and discuss your seating needs - these locations are not sold online to ensure as best as possible that they are only used by people who require access to these seating locations.

Accessible Toilets
We have three sets of accessible toilets on the ground level accessible to public (Entry B, C and D) plus 4 purpose built unisex facilities on concourse level - these are signed and directly accessed from concourse and are located 2 on Red concourse and 2 on Blue concourse. RADAR locks are used and a key can be obtained from information on green concourse (although customers may have their own which they can also use). Please ask a steward who will advise of the nearest facilities.

Assistance Dogs
Assistance dogs are permitted into the venue and pass outs will be provided if the customer requires in order for toileting etc. If you wish to bring an assistance dog please contact customerservices@flydsaarena.co.uk so that we can make provision for you to do so.

Assistive Listening Devices
We offer hearing assistance to our customers with the Sennheiser Tourguide 2020-D system. This transmits an audio feed of the event using FM radio frequencies.

Due to the limited number of devices we strongly recommend you book in advance. If you require a headset please make this known at the time of booking your event ticket. You can book via our dedicated access line on 0114 256 5593 or email customerservices@sheffieldarena.co.uk. If you are already here at an event please ask a steward to direct you to Information on Green Concourse and if we have any devices available we will be happy to loan these to you.

The following devices are available at our venue:

Stethoset receivers earphones are built in - for people who need a clearer audio feed, predominantly spoken word type events where background noise and reverberation in the hall reduces the intelligibility of what customers hear.

Bodypack receivers - with 3.5 mm audio port - as above, but for people who want to use their own earphones/headphones OR for hearing aid users via an induction neck loop.

Induction neck loops - for use with the bodypack receivers, they plug into the audio port and then create a small induction loop for the user to then connect their hearing aid to.

Strobe Lighting
If strobe lighting is going to be used at an event information advising customers of this is clearly displayed next to every set of doors on concourse. There would be no warnings during the performance.

Medical Services
Medical cover is provided on all events we host with a First Aid room provided located on the Green concourse.

Changing Facilities
We have 1 assisted changing faciIity with a height adjustable adult-sized changing bench and a tracking hoist system located at Entry B should customers require.

Care Room
We provide a care room that can be used during a show from the doors open time until the event ends.

This is a private room located just off reception at Entrance B - if you would like to use this room please contact a steward who will check on availability and arrange access.

Medical Requirements
If you need to bring medicines, food, drink or equipment to manage a medical equipment please email customerservices@sheffieldarena.co.uk so we can arrange to make provisions for this.


We are a CredAbility Verified Accessible venue


The FlyDSA Arena accepts the Access Card. The card has been designed by CredAbility to easily and discreetly let businesses know the specific needs of disabled visitors. It translates a person’s disability / impairment into symbols which highlight the barriers they face and the reasonable adjustments they might need.


Nimbus Disability created the Access Card and its associated Quality Assurance Scheme CredAbility

Accessibility Throughout Sheffield City Hall


Sheffield City Hall has designated access points for wheelchairs users:

Foyer & Oval Hall

When looking at the main entrance to the City Hall there is an access ramp located at the front of the building to the left hand side, behind the row of poster adverts.

Memorial Hall

Entry to the Memorial Hall, which is located at the back of the City Hall, is ground level making the stalls area accessible for all. Please note that the balcony level seats in the Memorial Hall are only accessible via stairs.

Ballroom 

Entrance to the Ballroom is at the side of the City Hall and customers can gain access to the Ballroom via a lift at the Ballroom entrance.

Hard of Hearing

An infrared sound amplification system is available in the Oval Hall on the Stalls and Circle levels. Please note, seats on the Balcony level are not covered. Both loop and conventional headsets are available.


Headsets must be booked in advance via the venue Box Office. Upon arrival on the day of the event, please speak to a member of Box Office staff to receive your headset.


Blind & Partially Sighted

Assistance dogs are welcome in all areas of the building.
